I will only add my 2 cents. What is important is that English is not the default language for many, many nations. In European Union only in th UK people speak English. So in other countries people will not type in “dog” but rather “hund”, “pies”, “chien” etc. And of course the name is followed by .de, .pl, .fr and so on.
