It was interesting to read an article in BBC titled “Dot brand versus dot com: Internet domains go head to head“. The author claim the brand has superiority over dot com.

As I always claim, it all depends on the angle you look at! Let me tell you some other points here.

Let assume that I want to buy a smart phone. Now if I know the brand I want to buy then I will go directly to their website and do my purchase. That is because the brand has done some off-line or on-line advertisement that made me to be aware of their product. What if I didn’t make up my mind on any particular product?

Will I go to smartPhone.apple or smartPhone.samsung or so to say smartPhone.google?

Definitely I am going type in “Smart Phone” in the address bar as many would do! At this point think about the flow of the search engine. Which link is ideal to bring at the top of the results? Is that smartPhone.com, smartPhone.org, smartPhone.apple, smartPhone.samsung or smartPhone.google? I bet that Google will not jeopardize their search result strategy for petty benefit of bringing dot brand in forefront.

I best bet is the smartPhone.com or the org site is going to show at the top of the search result page as they will have a review of all branded and non branded products. That’s what I was searching for. That would be the relevant result. That is what Google is good at and that’s why they lead the search market.

So, ultimately from the user perspective the open gTLD is much more valueable than the dot brand. The dot brand is good for those big corporates to show off their power of spending and pride to fight each other as the current patent war in courts all over the world. But, will never take the gTLD down as this author claims.

Every day I read about the new findings published on the net. Scientist found that scientist found this. The latest is that the scientist are puzzled of the speed of light.

In an experiment at CERN, they found that the sub atomic particles travel faster than the light. Now this is not offically accepted. Those who found this want another team team to do the experiment and conform it.

What will be the consequent if it is conformed. The maximum speed is not the speed of light? Many of our physic theory will break down and we have to re-write the text books.

Well, well . . . I always been skeptical of our schooling when it comes to theory. I don’t think the graduation of the current generation is important in Education wise. It is good to go through the social interaction in the uni but education is questionable. Why?

If you notice the speed of out findings increase day by day. At one point all you have learned to become under graduates will expire by the time you walk out of the uni.

What are you going to do about it? I am very much interested to know the view of the current generation, so please leave your comments below.

Some times I can’t help than to laugh until my stomach starts to pain. Here is one found on Google Plus. pasted for you . . .

We hear day by day more on natural disasters. Is that due to the information age or is really there are more earth quark now than before?

Well it’s a million dollar question. But, I have a feeling that some thing is going to happen that will change this World for ever. Just like the 9/11 changed the way we see each other.

The World has grown greedy and in-human, thus a change is better for all.

God sun, our star will push us to the stone age. Do you believe that? I do. Because simply it can!

Take all the Mobile phones and internet, the World will come to a stand still. I love to see the Sun is going into action.

Sorry about that, but I was born to enjoy the natural disasters. Any way I can’t create them or stop them. So why not just enjoy it and accept it?

I am very out spoken person. Be it criticizing any one I think they are doing wrong. That’s because I am not afraid of death. I always say, death is only once, so don’t die every day thinking of the death.

The current situation in Sri Lanka goes like this for the countries majority folks.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out –
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me — and there was no one left to speak for me.

It is becoming clear day by day that the majority folks are feeling the suppression by the people they elected to office.

You may have viewed “Sri Lanka, The killing field” or “The lies agreed upon”. In the very near future you may also have a change to watch “Sri Lanka, The way of revolution”.
